No kids allowed date night

All dressed up and out to the Bellagio we go! We enjoyed a dinner out followed by a stroll on Worth Ave with a visit to the Breakers hotel in Palm Beach for sightseeing. The guys appreciate beautiful buildings. Us girls love fabulous places.

Are you here with Lago Key Club?

Brett and Scott went off fishing for some wahoo so what to do with three kids is what I was thinking. Go to the beach. Go in style! Off to the Ritz Carlton we go. I love having my lawn chair laid out for me and lunch served pool side with an ocean view. It was so beautiful I just could have cried. The girls thought the dessert was the best part, rice crispy treats with chocolate shavings and m&m's and brownies with ice cream. It was so fabulous. Mom's favorite part was the ocean breeze, the warm sun and did you see that yummy drink? Fabulous!

"Security we have a code red"

Our vacation started on Good Friday April 2, 2010. We flew from Atlanta to West Palm Beach with our dear friends the Murphy's. Unfortunately we did not fly together on the same airline. It all worked out in the end and made for a fun arrival joke on the "smurphy's" (see picture) We arrived before them by 45 min or so. It gave us plenty of time to make a sign and stand in the arrival area waiting for them. It also gave us time to get into "trouble". Let me explain. When you arrive and leave the concourse you see the security man sitting there so you do not return to the secure area. Well, since our friends were arriving in another concourse I wanted to ask a question from the nice security man. BAD idea! Kate stopped walking forward and noticed mom stopped so she took one step back towards me...ALL alarms and lights start blinking and ringing. I was waiting for the guns to come out. It was kinda scary. Needless to say I had nothing to ask anymore and wanted to just go. That is what we did. Poor Kate felt like she did something wrong but got over it quickly when we found a cute store to shop in. And the trouble continues.....While shopping and checking out I forgot Scott's bag in the store. We did not notice it till we were about to leave the airport. I took a bag count and said we are short one. Good thing it was not a kid. Well, Scott took off running retracing our steps to find the bag being hauled off by a TSA agent. I'm sure they were going to take it to an undisclosed location to destroy. :) That was a close one. I am convinced we were being watched very closely till we left the airport.

Easter egg hunt of the year!

This year the Bass' had us over for an Easter egg hunt. It was a treat to enjoy the season at their beautiful home with their family. Thank you Sarah and Scott for such sweet memories.

What went wrong..??

The finished product.

Work in progress...
The wall is gone...
Nicole is a hard worker....

We built our house in 2001 and just were not thinking or we just made some mistakes. We decided recently to fix a few of them. It has been a fun project because I love change. We pulled a brick built in bench and a small wall by our entrance out. Both just seemed like they did not belong. Nicole was a big help and wanted to try out her painting skills.

Bragging on my kids

So last week I had a cold. Thankfully it lasted only a few days. But this week I got the stomach thing and it to only lasted a few days. My poor kids have been without mommy attention for what seems like forever. Well, this week while I lay in bed thinking about dinner, Kate decided to cook it for me. With a little coaching from the bedroom I yelled directions to the kitchen on what to do. She made a pasta/meat dish and from what I hear it was good. I am so impressed. 10 years old and she browned ground beef, boiled pasta, got the sauce and combined all the ingredients together to produce a meal. I am so proud. On top of this both girls have made their own lunches in the morning two days this week. I hope there was not too many sweets in them. No teacher phone calls have come. :) I LOVE my kids!
