Out with the old in with the new

Well, I have broken down and got myself a "smart" phone. I have to tell ya it is a big transition in life. My kids now have a phone and I am hooked up to a tool that has the potential to be very addictive. I can tell already from just having had it for 24 hours. Thank goodness I have 30 days to play with it and if I am not happy I can return it.

My kids act like they have never had access to a phone in there lives. They have called aunts, uncles, friends, grandmas and others that they never really call. I guess when you can say it is my phone it is cooler to call someone. They are also texting friends. What? Friends you ask. Yes they have friends who have phones already. I thought I was on the cutting edge getting a phone for my kids but I guess I was just a few steps behind.

Lead Me (Acoustic - with Lyrics) by Sanctus Real

So thankful for men who take the responsibility to lead their families. I am so thankful for the mighty man of God I am married to.

Macon Co Fair- Sow it. Grow it. Show it. September 15-19, 2010

Katelyn's and Nicole's class went to the fair this past week. I was not able to go this year for the first time since the girls were in school. I missed it but so thankful that Tami was able to snap a few pictures of Katelyn when their paths crossed at the fair. Thank you Aunt Tami for thinking about us.

Surprise!

This past weekend Scott and I left work early Friday afternoon and headed out to Asheville. We had reservations at a favorite place, The Grove Park Inn. Scott had surprised me and made a two night reservation with a BMW driving experience included. If you know me you might know that the BMW X5 is my dream "Un-mini van" my life car. I love my mini van but there are those moments I wish I had a car that made me feel a little more like a "hot mamma" and not a "soccer mom." This past Saturday morning I woke up feeling like a hot mamma and got to drive my dream car for 3 hours on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was fun to have the wind blowing through my hair and the music turned up and my fabulous husband next to me. The weather was near perfect. The car was everything I dreamed of and then some. The then some was the part where is was so advanced that I was puzzled on how to start it up after turning it off at a stop. It took a little bit of trial and error but I got it started. The day ended with us returning the car back to the hotel and walking away with a few snapshots. Maybe someday when we don't have two kids in private school I can have my dream car, but for now I think being a soccer mom is more important than me feeling like a hot mamma. Scott assured me that I don't need an expensive car to be a hot mamma, I already am he says. LOVE him!

Did someone say cake!?

Thought I would "share" our anniversary cake with everyone. It is another creation by Renee Vargas with Heavenly Creations Cakes {reneevargas@hotmail.com or http://heavenlycreationscakes.net/ } She sure can create beautiful cakes and we sure like to eat them. This one has a wonderful raspberry filling. She used my card for Scott as her inspiration. Love it!

"'...This is my lover, this my friend...'" Song of Solomon 5:16 NIV

We are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend. I have never been more in love with the man I married 13 year ago then I am now.

On our wedding day, I called you "husband"

for the first time,

and since then I've discovered

that word means much more

than I first imagined

It means "friend" because

you are the best one I have.

It means "partner" because

we share life's journey together.

It means"blessing" because

you are one of the greatest gifts

God has ever given me.

The more years go by,

the more it means to call you "husband"

because the longer we are together,

the more I discover all you are to me.
